We chose Blessed Carlo Acutis as the namesake and patron of our Regional Parish Religious Education Program because he perfectly embodies the mission we hope to instill in our children: a deep love for Christ, active participation in the life of the Church, and a desire to share the faith with others in today’s world.

Carlo was an ordinary teenager who lived an extraordinary life of holiness. He loved soccer, video games, and coding—but more than anything, he loved the Eucharist, attended daily Mass, and used technology to evangelize, building a website to share Eucharistic miracles from around the world. His witness shows that faith and technology can go hand in hand, and that sanctity is possible even in the midst of modern life.
Carlo is a saint-in-the-making who speaks directly to the hearts of today’s young people. He reminds us that being holy doesn't mean being boring. His famous quote, “We are all born originals, but many die as photocopies,” encourages students to embrace their unique identity in Christ and to live their faith with boldness and joy.
As we bring together children and families from several parishes into one unified program, we wanted a patron who could truly inspire and connect us. Carlo’s global outlook, youthful energy, and devotion to the sacramental life of the Church make him the ideal guide for our mission.
Carlo often said, “The Eucharist is my highway to heaven.” Our PREP program is rooted in preparing students to receive the sacraments with reverence and understanding. His example reminds us that the goal of religious education isn’t just knowledge—it’s transformation.
Carlo didn’t just talk about faith—he lived it through small acts of charity. He used his own money to buy sleeping bags for the homeless, stood up for bullied classmates, and always noticed those who were left out. His quiet compassion reminds us that holiness is found not just in prayer, but in loving others with Christ-like kindness—a core value we strive to pass on in our PREP program.
We're excited to welcome returning and new families into our 2025-2026 program year.
